Kenosha Bradford will play Stevens Point, and Menomonee Falls will face Westosha Central in the Division-One semi-finals tonight at the state high school softball tournament. All four teams advanced yesterday, after winning their quarter-final contests in Madison. Kenosha Bradford edged Oshkosh West 1-to-nothing on an R-B-I single by Emily Hastings. Stevens Point eliminated Germantown 3-to-2 in eight innings, as the winning run scored on an infield error. Westosha Central of Salem advanced with a 6-nothing win over Sun Prairie. Kayla Konwent homered and drove in five runs for Westosha. Menomonee Falls had a 1-nothing victory over Appleton East. Maddie Eikenmeyer tripled in the top of the ninth, and then scored on an error. In Division-Two, Baldwin-Woodville and New London advanced to tomorrow’s championship game. Baldwin-Woodville, which is going for back-to-back titles, eliminated New Berlin West 9-to-nothing in last night’s semi-finals. Katie Thompson went 3-for-4 with three R-B-I’s. New London blanked Monroe 6-nothing in the other semi. Shelby Sommer tossed a four-hitter for New London. Semi-finals will be played today in two other divisions. The Division-Four semis start at 9:05 this morning. Wausau Newman plays New Lisbon, and Shell Lake takes on Algoma. In the Division-Three semis this afternoon, defending champ Stevens Point Pacelli faces Mineral Point. And Grantsburg goes against Kenosha Saint Joseph.
Baseball Stevens Point is headed back to the State Tournament wth sectional wins over Eau Claire North and Hudson. They will play Kenosha Bradford next Tuesday at Fox Cities Stadium.
