Taylor Swift 's been writing songs since she was 12 years old, so it's hard to believe she ever could have been anything but a professional musician. But Taylor says if she had to choose a different occupation, there are a couple she'd like try, including -- believe it or not -- fighting crime.
Speaking to the British paper The Sun while in London for the Capital FM Summertime Ball concert, Taylor said that if she wasn't a global music superstar, she'd be "an interior designer or a detective." The interior designer one is easy to see -- Taylor's talked about how she likes to decorate her Nashville condo with all sorts of interesting antiques. But the detective one, Taylor admits, is simply because she likes to watch people doing detective work on TV.
"I don’t think I’d be a good detective," she admits. "I just watch all of those crime shows. Anything that has a slight premise of being a crime show, I’m on it. I have so many boxsets — I’m into Criminal Minds at the moment, and Law And Order, and CSI. I’ve never seen The Wire but I’ll get into that next.”
Taylor also talked about the fact that she's basically been living out of a suitcase for the past five or six years.
"I think it’s hard the first couple of years. But once you get into the groove you kind of just get used to it," she explains. "In fact, you get a little restless when you’re in a place for more than two days. You start thinking, ‘When am I supposed to board a plane?’ and ‘When am I supposed to pack my stuff?’”
