Britney Spears ' new single is off to a smurfin' great start.  "Ooh La La," the song she recorded for the upcoming movie The Smurfs 2 , has debuted at #22 on Billboard's Pop Songs chart, which measures radio airplay.   In the 20-year history of the chart, only one of her songs has debuted higher: "Hold It Against Me."

Billboard notes that "Ooh La La" is also Britney's 31st song to make the Pop Songs chart: she now has more than Mariah Carey , who's racked up 30.  Only Rihanna has had more, with 36, despite the fact that she hasn't been around nearly as long as either Britney or Mariah.

The Smurfs 2 soundtrack will be out July 23; the movie itself lands in theaters July 31.  Besides Britney, other artists on the soundtrack include Nelly Furtado , Owl City and some up-and-coming acts.  Sadly, Katy Perry , who does the voice of Smurfette in the film, is not on the soundtrack.
