Brewer bats beat Cubs 9-3

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WSAU-Sports Network) - Rickie Weeks went 3-for-4 with a pairs of home runs, four RBI and three runs scored to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 9-3 win over the Chicago Cubs in the opener of a three-game set at Miller Park.

Juan Francisco also homered and scored three times, while Jonathan Lucroy drove in a pair of runs and Jean Segura had an RBI double for the Brewers, winners in three of their last four games.

Kyle Lohse (3-6) was charged with three runs on eight hits over seven innings to earn the win. He struck out three without issuing a walk to win his second consecutive decision.

Nate Schierholtz went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer for the Cubs, who have dropped six of their last nine tilts.

Edwin Jackson (3-10) gave up six runs on six hits and two walks over 4 2/3 innings to absorb the loss.
