Back in November, it was announced that Adele 's album 21 had received Diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of America for sales of 10 million copies in the U.S., prompting her to take to Twitter to thank her American fans for all their support.  Now, seven months later, Adele has finally received the actual trophy marking the achievement.

On Friday, Adele was in New York City for a record company event, and while she was there, she was presented with her special Diamond award trophy.  Adele is the only British or European female artist in history ever to sell 10 million or more copies of an album in the U.S.  Worldwide, 21 has sold more than 25 million copies.

In other Adele news, she doesn't seem too concerned about shielding her son's face in public anymore.  As E! Online reports , the singer was spotted in New York City Wednesday, taking the tot to the Central Park Zoo.  She was accompanied by five friends, and in the photos published by E!, the boy -- reportedly named Angelo -- can clearly be seen as she holds him with one arm; he appears to have her coloring.

According to E!, Adele, the boy and their pals were surrounded by security as they spent more than an hour looking at polar bears, penguins and snow leopards.  Later, they hit the petting area to hang out with goats and alpacas.

Adele's son was born in October; his dad is her boyfriend, Simon Konecki , who she's been dating since 2011.
