GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) - You won’t find foam cheese wedges at Lambeau Field this week, just the real thing. It’s the U.S. Championship Cheese Contest, and it’s being held at Lambeau Field. Officials say they’ve received a record number of entries, with over 1,700 cheeses for judges to sample.
Judging is Tuesday and Wednesday during the morning, and is open to the public for free. Entry to the Grand Champion judging will cost $25.00.
Outside of a few years in Madison and Milwaukee, this event has been held in Green Bay by the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association. It has been in the Atrium of Lambeau Field since 2009. The event also raises money for charity.
