STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) - Even elected officials file personal bankruptcy sometimes. The Mayor of Stevens Point has done just that.
Andrew Halverson’s clothing business recently closed after falling on hard times. Halverson said the store’s gross revenue dropped between $15,000 and $30,000 below previous monthly averages, and they took on about $200,000 in debt to try and save the business.
Halverson says his personal financial troubles do not reflect on how the city is being run, and that Stevens Point is in excellent shape.
Andrew’s Limited was open for ten years in the downtown business district.
