MARYVALE, AZ (WSAU) The Milwaukee Brewers are taking their final day off at Spring Training. Two more games are on the docket in Arizona before the Brewers head north late on Thursday.

They’ll host a couple of exhibitions against the Chicago White Sox on Friday night and Saturday before opening the regular season next Monday at home against Colorado.

Meanwhile, Brewers’ center-fielder Carlos Gomez will not be resting today. He plans to get several at-bats in a game with the Brewers’ minor league camp. Gomez has been out for a few days with a stiff lower back. He said yesterday that he was almost back to 100-percent.

Brewers’ right-hander Mike Fiers will start today’s minor league game, so he can stay on schedule for his regular season spot in the Milwaukee rotation.

Meanwhile, Milwaukee infielders Taylor Green and Jeff Bianchi (be-yank’-ee) did basic workouts yesterday while recovering from hip injuries. Manager Ron Roenicke is not sure when either can return to game action.
