WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) - The rumors have been confirmed. Governor Scott Walker announced today his selection of Marathon County Chief Deputy Scott Parks as the new sheriff.
Parks will be sworn into office Thursday at noon. He replaces Randy Hoenisch, who resigned earlier this year. Parks should have no problem assuming the top administration role as sheriff. He has been handling many of the day-to-day operations for several years.
Parks does have some goals for the department. "I've been with the department for 33 years, and have been the chief deputy with the department since 2007. There are some things that I'd like to see accomplished here, and one of the best ways of doing that would be to become sheriff."
Scott Parks will complete Hoenisch’s term, which lasts until January 5th of 2015. He will be sworn into office in the Branch 2 Courtroom at noon. Judge Greg Grau will give the oath of office.
