RHINELANDER, WI (WXPR) - A Rhinelander man was sentenced to 12 years in prison for an attack on a his wife in Rhinelander in February, 2012.
38 year old Shannon Wolf had reached a plea agreement, accepting charges of aggravated battery and mayhem instead of attempted homicide. Prosecutor Scott Moeller said Wolf used his vehicle to hit the vehicle his wife was riding in, then approached the victim and broke the glass attempting to harm her, and calling for her to die as he attacked her.Moeller pointed out that Wolf has an extensive prior criminal record including two stints in prison.
Wolf told the court he was sorry.
Oneida County Circuit Judge Patrick O'Melia acknowledged Wolf's tough life growing up, and chaotic adult life, but said Wolf failed to reform his life. The judge said Wolf continues to be a threat to his wife and forbid any contact with her.
He sentenced Wolf to 12 years in prison and 12 years of extended supervision. He was credited for the nearly year and half he's been in county jail.
