WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) - The Weston woman accused of luring a man to her trailer so he could be robbed was sentenced today. 29-year-old April Cherry entered into a plea deal Tuesday afternoon.
She pled no contest to armed robbery with a threat of using force. Charges of resisting an officer and bail jumping were dismissed but read in at sentencing. Judge Jill Falstad sentenced Cherry to 3 years in prison followed by 8 years of extended release. She will get credit for 537 days already served in jail, meaning she has 558 days yet to serve before extended release can begin.
Once out of prison, she must engage in work or school for at least 30 hours each week.
Cherry was accused of luring a many to her trailer so he could be robbed. She had promised the victim sex for money in December of 2011. When he arrived, several robbers jumped him.
