It's probably safe to say that globally, Lady Gaga 's is as famous for her bizarre outfits, both onstage and off, as she is for her music. And, while many believe her out-there ensembles prove that she's crazy, Gaga says in an upcoming British TV interview that wearing those nutty get-ups actually help her manage her craziness.
According to Britain's Press Association , when Gaga taped the British talk show The Graham Norton Show , she said of her fashion choices, "It's how I deal with my insanity. From when I was young I had voices in my head and for the longest time I was drinking and doing a lot of drugs and it was the clothing and the artistry that saved me."
She added, "I get sheer joy out of creativity; it's like a psychedelic experience for me."
Gaga also spoke about her role as godmother to Zachary and Elijah , the two young sons of music legend Elton John and his partner, David Furnish . She takes the job very seriously, but admits to spoiling the kids to no end.
"I bring them presents all the time. I spoil the hell out of them," she told Norton. "They are the most beautiful kids and I've never seen such a loving family. They are absolutely the symbol of the future modern family."
The Graham Norton Show featuring Lady Gaga will air in England this Friday, and then on BBC America a week later.
