Another wolf hunting & trapping zone is closing Thursday


MADISON, Wis. (WSAU) -- The wolf hunting and trapping season will be over in another management zone Thursday afternoon.

Department of Natural Resources Large Carnivore Specialist David McFarland says they will close Zone 6 to hunting and trapping as of 2:00 p.m. November 7th. Zone 6 accounts for over half of the state’s area , including all of southern Wisconsin.

The only remaining wolf hunting and trapping zone will be number 3.

Zone 3 is a small area that covers portions of Taylor and Chippewa Counties north of Highway 64, most of Rusk County, the southern part of Price County, and most of Washburn and Burnett Counties north of Highway 70 and east of Highway 53.
