MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - Both houses of the Wisconsin Legislature are scheduled to be in session starting early Tuesday afternoon.

One of the bills to be considered by the Assembly would make it a crime to post "revenge porn" online.

Republican sponsors say the measure is needed to stop jilted lovers from posting naked pictures of their exes online, with the goal of embarrassing them.

Right now, it's against the law to post a nude image that was taken without the subject's consent. The new bill would prohibit posting nude images taken with the subject's consent, if the person never gave consent to disseminate the photos.

It would be a misdemeanor with penalties of up $10,000 and up to nine months in jail.
