MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) -- McDonald's officially opens their new state-of-the-art restaurant in Marshfield on Wednesday.
Co-owner Brian Fish says that after being dark for three months, The Golden Arches are welcoming customers back with a bunch of “free goodies” starting at 5:00 a.m. Wednesday. Fish says, “The first 150 customers purchasing food inside the new store will get a certificate for a free Big Mac every week for an entire year!”
The old McDonald’s store stood for 39 years at the Central Avenue location, and was one of the most popular in the Midwest. Drive-through traffic often backed up onto Ives Street, causing a hazard. With a much larger lot and new drive-through lanes, the number of cars that can be accommodated more than doubles.
Fish says the Marshfield store is a unique prototype, with only three or four others like it existing in the entire country, the closest one being located in Missouri.
Tuesday was spent busily training employees in the new store, and attending to last minute finishing touches.
