MERRILL, Wis. (WSAU) -- Merrill Municipal Airport staff is hoping the upcoming snowfall happens in the last part of winter and not the first part. That’s because they will be getting new snow removal equipment in February.
The Department of Transportation will be channeling Federal Aviation Administration dollars towards a bi-directional tractor, snow blower, and loader attachment for use on the runways.
Governor Scott Walker approved the appropriation Tuesday, which includes $150,000 from the FAA, and another $3,947 from the State of Wisconsin. The City of Merrill will also pay $3,948 towards the $157,895 equipment purchase.
