PORT EDWARDS, Wis (WSAU) -- The former Domtar paper mill in Port Edwards may not stay idle much longer. The firm that bought the property last March is ready to disclose what they’re going to do with it.
Ohio based DMI Acquisitions LLC owns the 192 acre industrial site along the Wisconsin River, which is now called the Central Wisconsin Applied Research and Business Park.
DMI Acquisitions has teamed up with developer Vandewalle & Associates. They will make a presentation Wednesday afternoon announcing what is next for the property at the site’s Computer Data Center Building. Several company, village, and state officials are expected for the 5 o’clock presentation to the public.
The Port Edwards property has extensive rail facilities and square footage for manufacturing or industrial use. DMI officials believe the property could be a prime location in the energy, agricultural and wood products markets.
