TOWN OF HULL, Wis. (WSAU) - Residents in the Town of Hull are finding that their wells are running dry, and they're pointing the finger at the City of Stevens Point.
Hull residents are having a town hall meeting October 21 to discuss the problems with wells going dry.
WSAW-TV reports that residents near the new Stevens Point Well Number 11 have been forced to pay for expensive well re-drilling costs.
Stevens Point Mayor Andrew Halverson says the new well was tested and shouldn't be causing problems for the neighbors, but the Town Board isn't convinced.
Board members say they plan to get their own expert out to inspect the well and see what, if any, damage it's doing to the neighboring aquifer. They're also encouraging Hull residents to come forward with information about well expenses they've had to make.
