MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WSAU) - A 17 year old Arpin boy is pleading not guilty for his part in a now-famous attempted robbery in Marshfield.
Cordell Ellingson is charged in Wood County with contributing to the delinquency of a minor for convincing a 13-year-old to rob Wolf's Grocery Store in July. The 13 year old put on a mask and tried to rob 96-year-old Marge Wolf at knifepoint. She refused to give him any money, and offered Tootsie Rolls instead.
A detective testified that Ellingson laid out the plan for the robbery and put the other boy up to it. A judge found enough evidence to move on to trial.
If convicted, Ellingson faces 6 years in jail.
