TOWN OF HULL-STEVENS POINT (WSAU) - Residents of a town adjacent to the City of Stevens Point will have a couple of opportunities to sound off about well problems. One of those chances is Tuesday.
Town of Hull officials and Portage County Executive Patty Dreier will be at the Hull Municipal Center between noon and 1:00 p.m. to listen to resident’s individual stories. Many have been forced to have deeper wells drilled after their existing wells dried up. Most of them blame the city of Stevens Point’s new well number 11, which is right across Highway 66 from several Hull residents.
Stevens Point officials say their well is not to blame, but it’s hard to convince the Hull residents that have paid in the neighborhood of $6,000 to get access to water again.
Along with the Tuesday meeting, Hull officials are having another public meeting on this topic October 21st at Stevens Point Area High School at 6:00 p.m. It might be hard to get Stevens Point officials at that meeting, since city council meets that same night in a different location.
