WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) - A Wausau car dealer was shut down for a week last month after getting in trouble with the state over licensing.
The DMV says Budget Auto Plus on Stewart Avenue failed to transfer car titles in a timely manner in violation of state law. This was despite warnings about delays and other business practices the store received last year.
The business admitted to investigators that they failed to transfer title on five cars. The state shut down Budget Auto Plus for five business days last month because of the finding.
Any future violations of state law could result in having their licence to sell cars revoked.
Budget Auto Plus has agreed to allow agents or employees of the Department of Transportation to inspect all business records necessary to verify compliance with the state's instructions.
