WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) - Wausau School Board members will begin the process of evaluating their Superintendent. Normally, this isn’t a big issue, since they review Dr. Kathleen Williams’ performance every quarter. This time, the board is concerned about the recent controversy over religious music in school concerts and at school sponsored events off campus.
The school board still has unanswered questions about how the music controversy began and how certain events transpired. They also want to know if Williams is responsible in any way. Board member Lance Trollop is one board member that would like an independent investigation into the matter.
The Wausau School Board meets at 6:00 p.m. Monday. The only item on the agenda open to the public is the decision to proceed and not proceed with the evaluation. The rest of the meeting is in closed session.
