NEKOOSA, Wis. (WSAU) -
A pair of motorcycle operators traveling in a group were involved in a crash Saturday afternoon. Wood County Sheriff’s Department investigators say the incident happened at about 4:20 p.m. on County Road D in the Town of Cranmoor.
The group was riding eastbound when one of them began passing the other riders. That motorcyclist struck the back tire and fender of another rider in the group and lost control, causing a crash involving three people on two motorcycles. The driver of the passing motorcycle was flown to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield for treatment. His passenger was taken by Nekoosa Ambulance to Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids. The other motorcycle driver was not seriously injured.
Wood County authorities have released the names of those involved, but have not indicated who was driving & who was injured. They are 31-year-old Dan Zrinsky of Wisconsin Dells, 30-year-old Michael Schwarz of Almond, and 27-year-old Morgan Saunders of Wisconsin Rapids.
