STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) - Groundbreaking was held Wednesday for Stevens Point’s first business in the new East Park Commerce Center. Service Cold Storage has begun construction of a 157,000 square foot cold food distribution warehouse that is scheduled to open in June of next year.
The 14-and-a-half million dollar project will be close to the city’s new transit facility on E.M. Copps Drive, and will be close enough to bring rail service to the building if it is needed.
The Indiana based Tippmann Group will construct the cold storage warehouse. Service Cold Storage received land and incentives from Stevens Point for the project. The new warehouse is expected to create about 30 new jobs.
