STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) - Four Stevens Point area breweries want to send someone on a fantastic beer-cation.

Point, Central Waters, O’so and Kozy Yak Breweries are teaming up to send someone on a all expenses paid trip to Stevens Point to tour the breweries for a weekend. It's part of the Grain Circle Trail promotion from the Stevens Point Convention and Visitors Bureau.

One lucky visitor to the CVB's website or Facebook page will be getting a paid weekend for four in the Stevens Point area and a VIP tour of all four breweries.

O'so co-owner Marc Buttera says it was a natural idea for the group. "We're all in this together to promote craft beer, so it was just kind of a natural thing. We all got together to do promotions together, and how do we get everybody when they come to see one brewery to see all the breweries?"

Point Brewery spokeswoman Julie Birrenkott says the craft brew industry is really redefining how people think about beer in the state. "We're brewing beers with more flavors and more hops, more malts and producing some great tasting beers right here in central Wisconsin."

Buttera says the beer tourism fad is turning into something much more permanent. "People are really serious about their beer, they want see all the different breweries, to hear all the stories about the breweries, it's really great. It gives them another reason to come out and see the great state." Birrenkott says craft brewing is part of the fabric of the area. "It's definitely an attraction to central Wisconsin. It's ingrained in our history. The Stevens Point brewery has been here for 156 years, and it's really part of Wisconsin's history."

You can sign up for the trip through the end of November.
