MADISON, Wis. (WSAU) - A special election has been ordered to fill a vacant central Wisconsin Assembly seat. Governor Scott Walker announced the deadline dates for people interested in the 69th Assembly District seat vacated this week by Representative Scott Suder of Abbotsford.

Potential candidates can begin circulating nomination papers immediately. Nomination papers must be turned in by September 25th.

If a primary election is necessary, it will be held October 22nd. So far, it appears that will happen as three Republicans have expressed an interest in the open seat. Dorchester Trustee Debra Koncel, Former Marshfield Councilman Scott Noble, and Stratford businessman Bob Kulp have all announced their intentions to seek that office.

The special election day is set for November 19th. Whoever wins that special election will complete Suder’s term, which expires next year.

Another special election will be held in the Milwaukee area, but the details cannot be announced until after Representative Mark Honadel officially resigns.
