MILWAUKEE, WI (LEARFIELD-WSAU) The Milwaukee Brewers will again play their division leaders tonight. That was Pittsburgh a week ago. Tonight, it's Saint Louis.
The Cardinals have a one-game lead over the Pirates in the National League Central, after winning three straight overall and 9-of-their-last-11 contests at home. The Brewers are 20-and-a-half games behind Saint Louis in the division, and they're just 3-and-10 against the Cards this year.
A pair of rookie right-handers will take the mound. The Brewers will put up Wily Peralta, while the Redbirds send out Shelby Miller. Peralta has had an up-and-down year with Milwaukee, with a 9-and-14 record and an E-R-A of just over four-and-a-half. Peralta struggled before going 1-and-1 in his last three outings, all quality starts with a three-point-seven-one E-R-A in that stretch. He gave up three runs on six hits against Pittsburgh last Wednesday.
Miller is 12-and-9 with a three-point-one-nine E-R-A. He's been especially hot at home, with a one-point-nine-two E-R-A and a 7-and-3 mark at Busch. Miller hopes to recover after going 0-and-1 in a pair of road starts with a seven-point-two-oh E-R-A.
The Cardinals are 83-and-60. Milwaukee is 62-and-80, winning 14-of-its-last-22 road contests.
