WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (WSAU) - The Wisconsin Rapids man accused of killing his daughter’s former boyfriend entered a not guilty plea in court Thursday. 54-year-old Joseph B. Reinwand is accused of shooting 35-year-old Dale Meister to death as he sat on his couch in March of 2008.
The complaint says Reinwand and his former girlfriend were having a child custody dispute. It also says Meister told at least 18 people that if he were ever found dead, it would be Reinwand that killed him.
One Wood County Jail inmate and another Wisconsin prison system inmate told authorities Reinwand admitted to them he killed Meister. Reinwand allegedly re-enacted the crime for one the men.
Reinwand also faces felony bail jumping and arson charges. He’s already serving prison time at the Stanley Correctional Center for a different crime. His next court date has not been scheduled yet.
