Library & Senior Center on Marshfield agenda Tuesday

Marshfield City Council chambers
Marshfield City Council chambers

MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WSAU) - Marshfield’s proposed Library and Community Center project will be in the spotlight Tuesday night at that city’s Common Council meeting. City administrator Steve Barg says the council is setting aside time for an update, and an extended “work session”. According to Barg the project organizers want to give an update on fundraising activities and design changes have been made. One of the main points of discussion for the evening will be deciding what other types of organizations can use the space besides the Library and Senior Center. Barg says they’ll discuss what other groups would be a compatible fit, and what type of space requirements would be involved.

Also on the council’s agenda for Tuesday night is a vote on whether to rezone an area behind Wal-Mart from “Two-Family Residential”to a “Multi-Family Residential” district to accommodate a proposed high-end apartment complex. That change has been opposed by many homeowners in that area. That meeting gets underway Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. in the lower level of Marshfield City Hall, and the public is invited to attend.
