MOSINEE, Wis. (WSAU) -- Funding was approved Monday for the next phase of construction at Central Wisconsin Airport.
Governor Scott Walker signed off on the project yesterday, which pays just over 7-point-1 million dollars for this second phase of the three-phase project. The construction will now focus on the east terminal’s 24-thousand square foot addition and improvements, which include improved baggage handling systems.
The state is paying $500,000. Marathon and Portage counties contributed $1-point-5 million dollars. Over 5-point-1 million is coming from the Federal Aviation Administration.
When completed, the entire airport improvement project will cost about 35-million dollars.
This second phase of work should be done in September.
