STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) -- A special oversight committee has decided who they would like to have for Stevens Point and Plover’s first municipal judge.
The Joint Municipal Court Oversight Committee decided on Mike McKenna at their Wednesday meeting. McKenna would take on the extra duties on top of his existing Portage County Corporation Counsel tasks.
McKenna has extensive legal experience, is a past circuit judge candidate, and has served as a Judge Advocate representing people in military legal cases.
The other two applicants were local attorneys Melissa Dalkert and Zachary Krogman.
The committee’s selection of McKenna has to be approved by the Plover Village Board and the Stevens Point City Council, which are expected to vote on this next week.
