ROSHOLT, Wis. (WSAU) -- A Rosholt game farm has had a second deer test positive for chronic wasting disease, or CWD, according to state officials.
Wilderness Whitetails is a family-run farm that produced a buck with CWD back in November. The disease has now been found in a doe that was killed in February.
The hunting ranch is enclosed by only a single fence so it is possible that a wild deer could have had close contact with infected deer. Samples from wild deer killed during the 2014 hunt will be tested by the Department of Natural Resources to determine if the disease is widespread in the wild.
