STOUGHTON, WI (WTAQ) - Stoughton Police say they have enlisted the help of the state crime lab, FBI and the U.S. Postal Service to investigate a threatening letter sent to a black teenager last week.

Family members say the letter, sent to an 18-year-old, depicts the lynching of two men with the teen’s face placed on one of the victims.

Police say the letter contained a Madison postmark but no return address.

Authorities note that they are taking this as a serious offense, adding that this type of behavior will not be tolerated and those responsible will be prosecuted.
