WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) Six Wausau West High School students will not face disorderly conduct charges for a game of 'Nerf Wars' that spilled over into a residential neighborhood near the school.
Wausau police chief Jeff Hardell voided the charges today. He'll discuss the decision at a news conference Tuesday afternoon at 2pm. Wausau school officials - who said the students who were cited would not be allowed to take part in extracurricular activities while the charges were pending - now say all of the students have been restored to good standing.
The incident started last Tuesday night when a neighbor called 911, believing that nerf guns were real firearms.
