WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) -- The 400 Block and all of downtown Wausau is turning pink this weekend for the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure on Sunday.
It's the annual 5k Run/Walk to benefit breast cancer research. Race organizer Susan Ford Hoffert says they're expecting a great turnout. "We're about 100 participants over what we were at this point last year. And I think we're going to beat last year's record. Our goal is $160,000 and we are on target."
If you're looking to still sign up or get gear for the event, Hoffert says they've got a space opened up in the Wausau Center Mall. "We are selling Shop Komen items so you can pick up a T-shirt or a hat or anything pink you like. And you can also register in person if you have not yet registered."
The event kicks off Sunday morning with the Survivor's breakfast at the Grand at 7 am. There's a survivor's parade at 8:15 am around the 400 Block, and the race itself starts at 9 am.
