WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) -- A plea deal is in the works for a Wausau woman accused of stealing $200,000 from her adoptive mother.
47-year-old Laurie Goetsch pleaded no contest to six counts of theft Monday in Marathon County court. The criminal complaint in the case says Goetsch stole the money from her adoptive mother's financial investments while she had power of attorney. Prosecutors say $80,000 of that money went towards bailing drug dealers out of jail.
All of the remaining money that Goetsch stole from the victim has been released back to her. Goetsch will be back in court for sentencing May 13th.
