STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) -- A Plover man is facing charges of severely shaking his six-month-old daughter, and causing serious injuries.
23-year-old Choua Xiong is jailed and unable to post a $25,000 cash bond. The complaint says Xiong admitted to shaking and dropping the girl after initially saying she was hurt in a car crash. Doctors say the child had bleeding on the right side of the brain when they examined her January 3rd. Doctors also believe the child received a fractured leg during the first week of her life.
If Xiong is able to post bond, he is ordered to stay away from children.
Xiong will be back in court for a preliminary hearing at 3:00 p.m. February 17th before Judge Thomas Eagon.
