MADISON, WI (LEARFIELD-WSAU) The Wisconsin women's basketball team won a see-saw game over Indiana, 65-to-60 last night in Madison. There were 10 ties and 12 lead changes.
Michala Johnson put the Badgers in front for good by hitting a lay-up with 2:34 to play. The Hoosiers made it a one-point game with 21 seconds left. Morgan Paige gave Wisconsin a little breathing room by hitting two free throws, and Johnson made an insurance lay-up with eight seconds left.
Indiana has now lost two straight after winning its first 14 games of the season. Larryn Brooks scored 14 points for the Hoosiers, who dropped to 1-and-2 in Big Ten play.
Jacki Gulczynski scored a season-high 23 points, and she tied a season-high with 13 rebounds. The Badgers are now 2-and-2 in the conference and 9-and-7 overall. They'll play at Northwestern on Saturday.
Tonight, the U-W Milwaukee men play at Illinois-Chicago. The Milwaukee women are at Cleveland State. The U-W Green Bay women travel to Youngstown State. And the Parkside men-and-women are at Illinois-Springfield.
