The Florida prosecutor handling Justin Bieber ’s DUI case says the incident early Thursday morning in Miami Beach was a “recipe for disaster.”
Bieber was released on bail Thursday afternoon after being arrested and charged with DUI, resisting arrest without violence and driving with an expired license. Police say the 19-year-old pop star was drag racing on a residential street and admitted taking pills, smoking marijuana and drinking.
Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle told reporters they take these cases “very seriously.”
“All these factors of racing, substance abuse, whether it's alcohol or other drugs or a combination thereof. Age is a factor. All of these things are very serious factors, a recipe for disaster,” Rundle said.
Meanwhile, Justin's manager, Scooter Braun , took to Twitter Thursday night to address the singer’s arrest.
, “@justinbieber love you and i will act in the manner of someone who truly cares. that is all I have to say. thanks for all those concerned.”
Early Friday morning, Braun tweeted , “Been a long day. Bottom line is we are defined by how we handle adversity. Be there when it counts. Love fully in good times and bad.”
