MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - The state government is giving a high tech firm a second chance.
Officials have hired the firm of Accenture to oversee a full overhaul of the government's numerous computer systems. The cost is $58 million.
Accenture is the same company that failed to produce a fully-functional voter registration system a few years ago -- and it cost taxpayers millions of dollars before the contract was scrapped in 2007.
Deputy Administration Secretary Chris Schoenherr told the Associated Press today that Accenture has learned from its mistakes -- and it will use its best experts to oversee the state's IT project.
