UNDATED (WSAU) Kim Hoenisch, the corrections officer who stole prescription drugs from inmates she was supposed to be supervising, has been released from jail. She completed a drug and alcohol program that allows for early release. She was freed on July 2nd -- seven months earlier than expected.
Under the earned-release program, she'll be on extended supervision at her home for the rest of the time she would have been behind bars. Hoenisch was going to be in prison until next February.
Hoenisch is the wife of former Marathon County sheriff Randy Hoenisch. She pled guilty to stealing medication from at least six people, including friends, family and inmates she was supervising while working as a probation officer She claimed she became addicted to pain killers because of a back injury.
