STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) -- A charity golf outing Saturday still has room for a few foursomes. It’s the HSPC Open, benefiting the Humane Society of Portage County.
Event Chairperson Eugene Mancl says they’re accepting entries right up to the last minute. “Absolutely. We can take people right in at the last minute. We’ve got a couple of foursomes, actually a number of foursomes still open for that event.”
Proceeds from the event are used to help take care of the many animals at the shelter in Plover.
Mancl invites golfers to just stop out and register for a fun day for a good cause. “Registration is at 11:30, and then there’s dinner afterwards. It’s $80.00 per golfer and includes 18 holes with the cart and dinner.”
Anyone that wants to skip golf and join them for dinner can do so for $20.00.
The event is at the Wisconsin River Golf Club southwest of Stevens Point. It’s a shotgun start at 1:00 p.m.
