STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) -- A third person is now in custody following an assault in a Stevens Point park on Memorial Day.
23-year-old Angelo Benjamin Garcia turned himself in to police. The 36-year-old male victim talked to detectives while hospitalized at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He told investigators that Garcia was one of the men in a group that attacked him at around 5:30 in the afternoon. Garcia is now in jail on a $15,000 cash bond awaiting his initial court appearance.
Detectives arrested 18-year-old Auston Ortiz and 26-year-old Jesus Rangel last week, and both men are now being held on $15,000 cash bonds.
All three men are scheduled to make their initial appearance on the charges of substantial battery and disorderly conduct June 16 in Portage County Circuit Court.
