CLINTONVILLE, Wis (WSAU) An investigation into Clintonville's city administrator triggered a no-confidence vote in their mayor.
City administrator Lisa Kotter is being investigated for taking her family with her while travelling to an out-of-town conference. Some of those travel expenses were covered by the city's travel fund. She was suspended for two weeks for misconduct because of it.
The city council wanted to forward the investigation to a labor attorney. That lawyer's review of the case could be used as grounds to fire the administrator. Mayor Judith Magee voted the council's decision, bringing the investigation to an end. The city council was one vote short of the two-thirds needed to override the veto.
Last night the council voted 'no confidence' in the mayor 6-4. The vote is non-binding. Magee said her veto was proper, and council was upset that their override failed.
