WESTON, Wis. (WSAU) -- An investigation is continuing into why a man jumped from a bridge onto a busy four-lane highway. Everest Metro Police Department says the man jumped from the Highway X Camp Phillips Road overpass onto Highway 29 shortly after midnight Monday morning. They don’t know why he jumped.
Two vehicles were stopped on the bridge, and a patrol officer went to investigate and discovered the man had jumped.
The jumper was not struck by a vehicle, but was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries and a mental health evaluation. His name has not been released.
