Accused murderer's bond reduction denied

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) -- The man accused of killing his stepfather with a baseball bat will remain in jail. WSAU’s

32-year-old Andrew Pray’s public defender Sean Drury asked Judge Thomas Eagon to lower the bond from $250,000 cash to $50,000 cash. Eagon denied the request.

Pray is accused of striking 77-year-old Christopher Bonnstetter three or four times with the bat as he lay resting on the living room floor on May 26th. His mother was watching television in the room, and was unable to help her husband. Bonnstetter was removed from life support and died on June 3rd.

Pray will be back in court for a preliminary hearing June 30th at 1:30 p.m.
