NEW YORK, NY (LEARFIELD-WSAU) Both the Milwaukee Bucks and Jabari Parker got their wish, when the team chose the Duke freshman forward with the second overall pick in last night's N-B-A Draft.

The Bucks were looking for a solid offensive player who could contribute immediately, and Parker said he was looking for a team he could grow with from the get-go.  The 19-year-old Parker, who's from Chicago, said he's glad to be playing close to his hometown -- and wanted to be with the Bucks because they were "all in" with him.

Co-owner Marc Lasry called Parker "a great kid" who's ready to go.  The 6-8 Parker is expected to play at either forward position.  E-S-P-N said Parker was one of three college freshmen in the last 15 years to average 19 points and eight rebounds a game while shooting 35-percent from three-point range.

General manager John Hammond said Parker causes match-up problems -- and he can go in the post and score off his own miss.  Milwaukee badly needs post-up scoring.  The Bucks averaged less than six-points a game from the post last season, the fourth-worst in the N-B-A.   In the second round last night, the Bucks took small forward Damien Inglis of French Guiana with the 31st overall pick -- and they took L-S-U forward Johnny O'Bryant-the-Third with the 36th choice.

Milwaukee also selected shooting guard Lamar Patterson of Pitt at Number-48.  The Bucks traded him to Atlanta.  In exchange, Milwaukee will get a second-round draft pick from Brooklyn next year.

Also, Thanasis Antetokounmpo -- the younger brother of Milwaukee's Giannis -- was taken by the New York Knicks with the 51st pick.  U-W Green Bay center Alec Brown was taken 50th by Phoenix.
