STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) -- The Stevens Point man accused of child pornography and taking pictures of children without consent is seeking a new judge.

75-year-old Gordon Miller made an initial appearance in Portage County court yesterday on the eleven new charges.

Judge Thomas Eagon recused himself from the case, as he was the prosecutor when Miller had similar charges dropped in 1998 and was instead sentenced for intercepting oral communications. Miller was assigned Judge Jon M. Counsell from Clark County as the substitute, but defense attorney Gary Kryshak immediately requested a new judge to replace him.

Miller is free on a $5,000 cash bond until his April 14th preliminary hearing, which will likely be held before Judge Eaton. Miller must stay away from minors, the Lincoln Center, and have no electronic devices or cameras while on bond.

The former UW Stevens Point staff member was found to have the inappropriate pictures while at the Lincoln Senior Center.
