MOSINEE, Wis. (WSAU) -- Governor Scott Walker highlighted a Mosinee business Friday as part of the state’s effort to give more people with disabilities the opportunity to work.
The stop at Mosinee Cold Storage allowed Walker and Department of Workforce Development Secretary Reggie Newson to meet several people that sort and repackage cheese products.
The Governor says his Year of A Better Bottom Line initiative is a win-win for workers and employers. Walker says this pool of workers needs to be matched up with these available jobs.
Under the Better Bottom Line initiative, state agencies are promoting public and private programs to improve employment opportunities for those with disabilities, including veterans and students.
Another part of the program is Project SEARCH, helping young people with disabilities transition from high school to the workplace.
