STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) -- A Stevens Point business owner accused of sexual assault has been re-arrested. 32-year-old Steven Tibbetts was charged earlier this month with assaulting an 18-year-old female. When that news was spread, even more alleged victims stepped forward.
Tibbetts was arrested shortly before noon Tuesday for approaching one of the alleged victims at the Plover Walmart.
Most of the charges accuse Tibbetts of drugging and raping multiple women, who were unconscious at the time. He was free on a $5,000 bond, but will likely forfeit that money for violating the conditions of his release. Tibbetts is now being held in jail awaiting his preliminary hearing April 14th.
Tibbetts owns the Energy Café, an Internet café, in downtown Stevens Point.
